Nonprofit organization focused on cannabis education and equity announces launch

ELEVATE New England launch event to feature food, funk and keynote address by cannabis industry pioneer Meg Sanders

BOSTON, January 17, 2018 – In response to the New England cannabis industry’s need for professional networking, education and community involvement, ELEVATE New England announced its launch and details for its premiere event. Sponsored by Canna Care Docs, Revolutionary Clinics and CannaKorp, ELEVATE New England’s launch event will feature a keynote address by Meg Sanders, Managing Director at Revolutionary Clinics in Massachusetts and former CEO of the Mindful Dispensaries in Colorado.

The event takes place at the Cavern Club inside Hard Rock Boston on Wednesday, January 31. In addition to networking with area influencers, employers, activists and others new to the cannabis industry, ticketholders will enjoy complimentary cocktails, hot food, and live music performed by local funk band KONG.

“Educated communities and individuals, when empowered to understand the cannabis plant and how, when and where to use and access it safely, will be a key factor in making New England’s cannabis industry successful and enduring,” said Beth Waterfall, executive director of ELEVATE New England. “As a nonprofit organization, ELEVATE partners with companies and individuals to provide a variety of events and experiences that connect and empower underrepresented talent in the country’s fastest-growing industry while educating the communities in which cannabis-related entities hope to prosper.”

Proceeds from the launch event will help ELEVATE New England develop its curricula for current and emerging cannabis industry professionals as well as for the communities current and prospective licensees and ancillary businesses aim to serve. The organization engages in this work with a deep focus on inclusion of women, LGBTQIA+, people of color, veterans, those living with disabilities and more through a wide range of offerings spanning basic cannabis use to building effective brands and compliant multi-state corporations.
